I have known Alyssa since August of 2002 and since that time we have had some interesting experiences and memories together. The way we met, I think is kind of cute, I was sitting by my friend Aubrey (also described in this site), when I noticed a very pretty girl with a Union Jack (British flag) on her lunch box. Seeing this (to me) sacred symbol on such a hot girl's lunchbox was my cue to go and talk to her. I dragged Aubrey along and we sat next to her (Alyssa), I asked her about her lunchbox and after describing herself as another anglophile, I proceeded to strike up the typical college conversation of what's your major, and year etc. She mentioned she was a sophomore, and when I said I was too, I told her in my extremely charming manner about the etymology of the word sophomore. So, we hit it off and about a month and a half later we started dating, and continued to date for about three years. During our vast and intensive time of getting to know each other, we learned a great deal about one another. I can safely say Alyssa is probably one of the most caring and understanding people I've met in my life. She has a genuine affection for every one and thing around her, especially those who are suffering. She is proned to being overtaken by all things cute, but being very cute herself it is understandable.
Alyssa generally impresses all who meet her, and if nothing else everyone likes her, at least that I've seen, though
she may tell you different. She is a very creative and intelligent soul who, in my estimation, can do anything if she has
half the inclination. I am always inspired by her, and hope some day to be able to do as much. Of course, like anyone else
she has her problems, one is she can be very passionate (especially when spurnned [I know this the hard way]), and she can
be, in spite of herself, quite judgemental. If you are on the short list of people she doesn't like, you'll feel it.
She also sleeps like a lion (male), and 12 hours is not untypical for her in a single day. She is a little obsessed with
her health, but I'm guessing that is because she survived cancer as a teenager. She is a writer, and because her talents
are inexhaustible, she is a good one, but her overpowering sense of modesty would have you think differently to meet her.
Sometimes I feel her views on the world are a little skewed by some bad experiences she's had, but she always tries to do
and think right, and that is part of why I love her so much. I hope to always have a great friend like her in my life, and
anyone who has the privilege to meet her would too!
