Dandy Andy

One of my nearest and dearest is Andy, and we have been friends at least since 1996. He is a guy who is always willing to help those who need it and has a very just heart. He is a student of the mind giving his life an emphasis in psychology, as that is what he majored in, in both undergrad and graduate school. He can be a bit pessimistic at times, and sometimes he is downright dark, but he always means well. He is very much an outdoors man, and has a soul that is very bound to nature, and hopefully will join me in a hike up the Colorado trail later. He is open to new ideas and tries out things with an eagerness to learn. Andy is also quite bound to logic in many ways and though I ocassionally disagree with him on some issues, he follows his own set of rules about how things are and how they ought to be. One thing that always sticks out to me about him, is he follows current events far more than anyone I know, what his motivation for this is, I'm not entirely sure, but I know it is a trait he very much has, and is often quite useful for me because I don't follow such things, so he can always give me a great summary of the world at large and its goings on.

Andy is a man of principle and always has been, he is very concerned with righteousness, which has ocassionally caused him some rifts in his friendships. He is often an abstract thinker and concerns himself much with metaphysical: moral and other issues, though he is very much an athiest (that logic thing again). One problem that he has sometimes is being alone, since I have known him to date (court), he has not been able to really be alone happily, which is cool we all feel that way often enough. But, he always seems to have some insight into a great deal of things and is a great guy to have around for heaps of reasons. One final note, and this is not a kind one, but funny: Andy is a cheap bastard. Andy is perhaps not the most miserly person I've ever met, but he sure is more on the miserly side than most. His frugality is charming sometimes actually, like when we used to go to Red Robin (a restaurant that has unlimited French fries) and he would simply sit there eating our fries, but getting nothing of his own! No, its not really that much of a problem, just a funny one, but Andy truly is a good person with a good heart and all who meet him (though he can sometimes be a dick) know this.

Check out some pictures of Andy. Also, here is his My Space and blog. Check them out!
