John Buchholz

One person in my life, whom I find to be very accepting and open to new ideas is my friend John Buchholz. John is one person I can always depend on to converse freely with, and even if we disagree (which doesn't happen often) he will always hear me out and reply intelligently to whatever my viewpoint is. John is quite intellectual and it is fun to witness his growth on nearly every subject from a friend's perspective. What I mean by this is that John goes through many phases of what he deems important and correct (as I assume we all do) and watching and talking to him about these phases is very enlightening, not only to know him and his mindset better, but also to consider such things in one's own thoughts. John is a great person to have a deep conversation with, if for no other reason than, he can talk about anything, which to me, demonstrates his breadth in life. It seems to me like John is a person who truly embraces and appreciates life as I feel a human should, at least in most regards. Now, this being said, there are a few quirky things about him too. For one thing, he is perhaps the most private person I have ever known so well. Meaning, that he lets almost nothing about his personal life known, at least not for a very long time. This self concealment has caused many to raise suspicion about what he could be hiding, but of course it is all meant in jest.

The apparent paradox of John's character regarding his highly open yet secluded character gets strangers still. This is mainly in the fact that John is a great socialite with a great many friends anywhere he goes. He certainly has a charm that presents everyone he meets with a wealth of fun and interest. This charm, I fear sometimes lands him in trouble, because he sometimes likes people less than they like him, but has to conceal his own feelings in the matter due to a sense of propriety and thoughtfulness. One thing about John, I think that adds to his sense of fun, is his pushiness and ability to peer pressure. John exudes a confidence that compels most people to act upon his will, and this can be a difficult thing to resist. His influence is not one way, however, and he is just as easily the subject of peer pressure. The influence that he both produces and suffers is mainly demonstrated with alcohol, and his desire for everyone (including himself) to have a good time. Basically, John is a very good guy with a diverse and interesting personality and abilities. He has his faults and failings, but certainly they are far outdone by his qualities and attributes and overall, by his intelligent and good sense of consciousness.
