Thomas Hutton

I met Thomas in August of 2003 when we moved into the same apartment complex at the same time. He actually met Brandon, Aubrey, John and our friend Ian at a barbeque the apartment complex was putting on (this particular complex was just a glorified dorm so housed only students). After meeting, Thomas came back to our new apartment with everyone and ended up hanging out quite a lot with us. When we first met, Thomas and I really bonded by playing Mario Sunshine on Nintendo Gamecube. Talking with Thomas, I soon learned that he had some definite quirks but also was probably one of the most noble-souled people I'd ever met and someone certainly worth having around. Since that time that seems oh so long ago, Thomas and I have been through a lot together, we lived together for a year in another apartment in Boulder (he makes a fantastic roommate) and hung out a few times in England when we independently moved there (to different parts albeit). Thomas seems so simple to describe, yet he is fantastically complex really, like anyone, but he seems exceptional still. Thomas is always a true joy to be around, and seldom expresses his anger directly, at least in my experience this is so. He is extremely witty and clever and will always say great things to get people to laugh. He can be very into tacky things, because I believe he really gets a kick out of such things... this quirk is always to the delight of people around him and causes much mirth. Of course, Thomas too has his dark side, like the fact that he (used to anyway) lacks a great deal of confidence and can be walked on very easily. He has a great big heart, which sometimes allows people to take advantage of him. Furthermore he can be very removed and forgetful of his friends, which is in part due to his slight remoteness to people.

Thomas is a very artistic soul and is quite talented in what he does, but he is also one of the lazier people I know, which is a feat indeed, considering some of the people I know. He is a very intelligent person to, and is very comprehending and considerate of most concepts and utterances he encounters. He is also just very empathic in general and will help most people seeking his counsel. One interesting thing about him, is that he has a vast amount of guilt and often feels terrible for things that I don't consider even offensive. Perhaps the best thing about Thomas is he seems to really see a person's inner beauty more than many people I know, and is rarely the subject of superficiality, this may have a lot to do with his empathy and intelligence, because he can really peg someone's personality better than most. Thomas is a great guy, and one I hope is in my life for a long time, I know that he truly has the potential to achieve a great deal of good in this life if he just would trust himself to do it. Thomas is a very sarcastic person at times, and occassionaly he dabbles in cynicism.
